Considered an excellent example of neoclassical architecture, the house has 14 rooms covering 6250 square feet.
The twin stairways on the front of the house represent "welcoming arms" and are supported by columns of handmade, curved brick.
The house has Palladian arches over the front and music room doors.

The Kingston House (1845) – A manor house of a cotton broker
Storage Crib
Well – used for drinking water
Doctor’s Cabin (1826) – Believed to be the oldest building in the county
Thornton House (1783) – Oldest restored house in Georgia
Slave Cabins (1830)
Old Barn – One of the few remaining examples of livestock barns found in Georgia in the early 1800′s
Farmyard
Coach House – Home to carriages and drivers
Smokehouse – Preservation of meat which hung from rafters
Necessary House – The "Outhouse", custom designed to fit all sizes of a family
Vegetable Garden – An organic delight
Cookhouse – Also used for laundry
